Seamless Steel Cylinder

40L Welded Acetylene Gas Cylinder With Valve And Locking Cap

Acetylene bottle is a container for storing and transporting acetylene. The appearance is similar to that of an oxygen cylinder, but its structure is more complex than that of an oxygen cylinder. The main part of an acetylene bottle is a cylindrical welded bottle body rolled from high-quality carbon steel or low alloy steel

The exterior is painted white with the words "acetylene" in red paint. A porous filler filled with acetone is installed inside the bottle, which can stabilize and safely store acetylene inside the bottle. When in use, acetylene dissolved in acetone decomposes and flows out through the acetylene bottle valve. Acetone remains in the bottle to dissolve and press acetylene again. The long hole in the center of the filling material below the acetylene bottle valve contains asbestos, which helps to decompose acetylene from the porous filling material.

Pressure vessels for storing and transporting dissolved acetylene. Acetylene is a flammable and explosive gas that is prone to polymerization, explosive decomposition, and other chemical reactions when heated or pressurized. Therefore, acetylene is dissolved in acetone in a bottle, and acetone is adsorbed on porous fillers such as activated carbon or calcium silicate, thereby ensuring stable and safe storage and transportation of acetylene. Acetylene cylinders have the advantages of good safety and reliability, convenient operation, saving calcium carbide, and reducing public hazards, and are being promoted to replace acetylene generators. According to the "Safety Supervision Regulations for Dissolved Acetylene Bottles" issued in 1981, the acetylene bottle body is welded with steel, painted white on the surface, and marked with the words "acetylene" and "fire cannot approach" in red. At 15 ℃, the filling pressure is 1.55 MPa, and the hydraulic test pressure is 6 MPa. When using and storing, it should be upright to avoid vibration and impact, and to prevent porous fillers from leaving a clear space. The filling should be carried out in two stages, with a static time of no less than 8 hours after the first filling. Then, the second filling should be carried out, and the limit pressure after the two static filling should not exceed the provisions in the table below.

Acetylene, with the molecular formula C2H2, commonly known as wind coal and calcium carbide gas, is the smallest member of the alkyne compound series and is mainly used for industrial purposes, especially in welding metals. Acetylene is a colorless and highly flammable gas at room temperature. Pure acetylene is odorless, but industrial acetylene has a garlic odor due to impurities such as hydrogen sulfide and phosphine.
